The short version
There is no account here and nothing to log into. What you have drunk stays on your own phone. If you give us an email address, we use it to email you and nothing else. That is genuinely most of it.
Your stamps, the dates you drank things, your ratings, your notes and your Pixie streak are kept in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us. We could not tell you what you have been drinking if you asked us to.
Two consequences worth knowing: your passport does not follow you to another phone, and clearing your browser data erases it. We cannot restore it, because we never had it.
If you enter your email address it goes to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a company in the United States, which sends the mail for us. They hold your address and whether you opened something. We use it to send you things about beer.
Every email has an unsubscribe link. We will delete your address on request, and we do not sell, rent or share the list.
Two features send something you typed to a server: adding a beer we do not have, and exploring a country. The beer name, country, style and year — or just the country name — are passed to Anthropic, an AI company in the United States, which writes the description that comes back.
We do not store what you send or what comes back; it goes to your device and stays there with the rest of your passport. Anthropic handles it under their own terms. If you would rather nothing left your phone, do not use those two buttons — everything else works without them.
No advertising, no tracking pixels, no selling anything about you. The app sets no cookies — local storage is not a cookie and is not sent to any server.
We count page views using Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. It tells us how many people opened the app, not who they were.
Links to the archive, the shop and brewery websites carry a tag saying which page sent you. It identifies the page, not the person. Once you leave, those sites have their own privacy practices.
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. For most people the answer to the first is "an email address, if you gave us one."
Write to [email protected] and we will deal with it.
This page is short because the app does very little with your data. If that changes — in particular if your stamps ever sync to a server so we can tell you when a brewery you drank changes hands — this page is updated before that ships, not after.
